Fall Decorating

Did you spend your Labor Day weekend shopping?  Well, I did, and I came to the conclusion that I just can't stand it anymore!  I've got to decorate for Fall!  Strolling amongst the pumpkins, gourds, and garland made of corn husks inspired me to decorate for Fall more than I ever have before.  Sure, I've carved the pumpkins and taken out the spiced candles, but this year I've decided to go over the top!

My ever patient husband walked with me through the aisles wondering why I needed these things.  After all, there are plenty of spiders and jack-o-lanterns and things that say "Boo!" packed away in our attic, just waiting for their turn to be brought down.

But Fall and Halloween are different I explained.  Fall is a season to be enjoyed from September all the way through Thanksgiving, whereas the creepy crawly things things of Halloween only have a shelf life lasting the month of October.

And so, seemingly content with that explanation, he stood by as I piled in to my cart the ceramic pumpkins and scarecrow pillows and acorn vase fillers.  I haven't completely decided where all of these decorations are going to go just yet, but I will.  In the mean time, here are some inspirational ideas if you are like me, and ready to get your decorating groove on.

Perfect traditional style display for a bar or dining room buffet

For all of you Crafters out there...

And for those of you who love a little bling with everything....

And if you prefer a more subtle approach to Fall Decorating, setting the ambience can be as simple as accenting with Fall colors...

The number #1 rule for decorating?  Make it you!  When a home reflects your style and taste, not only are you more comfortable, but so are your guests!

HAPPY DECORATING!
