With the temperates in Tallahassee dropping this past game day weekend, we not only gave our wardrobes an update, but our nails too! However, no one knows better than us Florida girls that fall takes it time getting here. So while we’re not quite ready to put on our oversized sweaters and Bean boots, we have to bid farewell to cut offs and flip flops. Enter the perfect fall transition outfit. It maintains summer’s bright, bold looks, while not seeming out of place in October. As for our nails, we’re keeping them neutral, but anything but dull. Here are the M&M Girls’ tips and tricks for creating a fresh new look that welcomes fall while still embracing that summer sparkle.
Seminole fans rejoice! Garnet just happens to be the “it” color this season! Universally flattering on all skin tones, it comes as no surprise we chose garnet as the main color for this outfit. A sleeveless dress in this gorgeous fall-friendly shade keeps us looking cool and feeling cool while the weather is still warm.
While you may think bright and bold are reserved for the summer months, dare to play up an outfit with a pop of color. And what better way to do so than with our favorite accessory: the scarf! It makes a great replacement for a statement necklace and the possibilities for styling are endless. For this look, we chose a brilliant blue pattern to really amp up the dress’s hue. Tip: tie knots at the ends of the scarf to polish up the look!
Truth be told: we rock cowboy boots all year long, but we love ‘em this season the best! You already know boots with a sundress is a winning combination, but pairing them with an outfit on the dressier side is a balance of country and chic that we just can’t resist!
You can’t have garnet without gold, so we opted for a thick stack of bangles to adorn this look. We’re not afraid of a little glitter here at M&M and for us, gold is as good of a neutral as black or tan. To complete our perfect fall transition outfit, we went with our favorite nail polish, Julep, in the color “Mahima.” Gorgeous doesn’t even begin to describe this. An amber gold creme, it’s the quintessential autumn nail color for the girl who wants to stand out in a sea of dark manicures.
