Nifty gifty....some of our favorite finds for your Christmas list!

Yes,  it's not even Halloween, but we are just two short months from Christmas...time to start making your list and checking it twice!

Our list is sure to be long, but here are some of our faves:

1.  Oatmeal heathered pullover...monogrammed, of course!

2.  Coton Colors Neutral Happy Everything platter....we love our friends over at coton colors and can't resist this fun platter. Perfect for celebrating every occasion or no occasion at all!

3.  Big monogrammed sweatshirt

Go big or go home.

4.  Tassel Bracelet

Silver or gold??  Decisions.....

5.  Nail polish wardrobe from Julep.  I love their unique colors! (kiki, mahima and marla, left to right)

 

6.  Acrylic monogram necklace

What's not to love?  Now to decide on the color....tortoise and pearl are great neutrals, but maybe a pop of color would be fun?

7. Simply Southern Tees
Short or long sleeve, I love wearing these all year.  The designs are adorable.  I need to add a few more to my collection!

8.  Someone to pay for my Stitch Fix addiction!

Have you heard of Stitch Fix?  It's like Christmas every month (or how ever aften you schedule a "fix".  Here's how it works:  You sign up and fill out a detailed style profile.  You link your account to you style Pinterest board if you have one so that your stylist gets to know your style up close and in person.  Then...you schedule a fix!  A fix is 5 clothing and/or accessory items tailored to your personal style preferences.  When your fix is styled, you are charged a $20 styling fee, but then that $20 is applied to anything you keep from your box.  It is so much fun and my stylist has done a great job so far...and who doesn't love to say they have a stylist, oh la la! Check it out, but it's addicting, don't say I didn't warn you!

10.  A trip to Bora Bora...a girl can dream, right?

It's a Boy!

Yes, the world is buzzing with the birth of a new royal.  Although we do not yet know his name; we do know that he will probably be one of the best dressed young men in the world.  I wonder if Kate likes monograms?  We think his Royal Highness definitely needs some of the basics, like handsome monogrammed loafers...

and some seersucker shorts for Daddy's summer polo matches....

He'll need a commemorative frame with a sweet little picture in it...

and a sweet little elephant to snuggle with.....

Mother's Day is exactly 30 days away.  Here are our picks for making Mom smile.  If you're smart enough to start early, we love these Mother's Pendants.....(they will take about a week to 10 days to be done)

This Week We're Loving....

What we're loving? Those adorable Boutique Boot Socks!  What we're not loving....the price.  So, we thought we'd make some of our own.  What else we're loving? They make the perfect, inexpensive stocking stuffer!


Here's what you'll need:

1 pair of knee socks, or over the knee socks depending on how high your boots are

some lace, some buttons, a needle and thread

First, measure the widest part of your calf.  You'll want to put enough lace in the sock to fit over your calf.  Then, cut off a piece of lace 1/2 in longer than your calf measured.

     We found something a similar width and shimmied the sock over it to get the sock to the width we wanted it.  The lace will not stretch like the sock, so you have to stitch the lace around the sock while it is large, otherwise it will come apart when you put the sock on.

Then, we just stitched the lace around the cuff of the sock.

You can embellish with buttons, or a monogram!

Toiletry Roll - A Tutorial

I was headed out to Cali, and not that I NEEDED a toiletry caddy, (or that TSA would even allow my toiletries in anything other that a quart size plastic bag) but I saw some cute washcloths at TJ Maxx that matched nothing I had and they were just begging to be given a greater purpose. 8 washcloths for $7.99! Aren't they cute?   They're going to be even cuter when I turn them in to Toiletry Rolls!

First, I laid out the washcloth wrong side up

Then, placed my toothbrush so that the top was even with the top of the cloth, and then folded up from the bottom. It was about 4 inches.

Next, I folded 12 inches of ribbon in half and pinned it just inside the fold.  This will help tie it in to a roll when I'm done.

 I sewed the edge where I pinned the ribbon closed

For the first pocket I measured 3 inches in and sewed a vertical line across the folded area.

Then, 1 inch over from that I sewed another line.  This pocket is for the toothbrush.  Mine fit at both 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch width, but all toothbrushes are different, so you will want to measure with yours to ensure a snug fit.

 I continued to sew lines another 3 inches over, then 1 inch over, and one more at the other end of the washcloth.

What a great camp goody or slumber party favor!
