Back To School Fun

For a helicopter mom like myself, having a daughter about to venture off into the world of Middle School has been a hard pill to swallow.  She has only seen a few friends over the summer, and the first day could be full of either big "I missed you" hugs, or awkward silence.  My remedy?  Invite all of those friends over for a fun Back To School party!  So, 18 friends and their families later, our house was hopping!

A few inexpensive cookie jars with some stick on chalkboard labels  (from M&M of course) made a perfect pit stop for hungry partygoers, and the lids were the perfect remedy to keep the outside pests from trying to share our food!  For my next party, I think I'll use these jars as casual punch bowls.

I can never resist a goodie bag; and personalized ones that go along with the theme of your party always show your guests that you really appreciated them being there.  Check out these cups purchased from their school spirit store and personalized with each kids name.

And never be afraid to let other parents pitch in! With so many kids and their families, I asked someone to co host with me.  If you don't have anyone that can help you that much, most parents are happy to donate some food, or drinks, or something else. Check out these adorable M cookies that another mom made.  We slipped one of these in each of the goodie bags as well.

So how did E's first day of school go?  A great report! She loves her teachers, she loves her classes, and her friends? Well, they loved the party and they even have a personalized cup to always remind them how their Middle School adventures started out with a bang!
